Aromatherapy Baths

I was taught by a healer from Belize that showers are for cleaning and baths are for healing. So that being said here are some basics tips for using essential oils in your bath.

  1. Fill your tub with warm water that is comfortable before adding the oils. The steam will carry the essential oils into the air and you may lose some of the healing properties of absorption through the bath if  you add the oils while the tub is filling. Inhalation will be great, though.
  2. Essential Oils are extremely powerful and strong. Less in the tub is better. The amount of oil you add to your bath depends on the strength of the essential oil you have chosen. Oils of Lemongrass, Geranium, Rosemary are considered among the strong oils that you should use less drops than other oils.
    • 1- 5 drops of oil is all you need to add to an average size bathtub.
    • Add the drops to a carrier of your choice first before adding to your bath
  3. See my section about the benefits of different carriers. For this page though just add your oil(s) of choice to about a teaspoon of baking soda or sea salt in the palm of your hand.
  4.
